A brunch location with Southwestern flair and classic diner vibes. Located on Southwest Ave. next to a medical transportation service and a construction company, the diner seems a little out-of-place. But one step inside and none of that matters.
The walls are covered in art featuring cowboys, maps, and a variety of other art displaying the spirit of the Southwest. But the restaurant is a diner at heart. Brightly colored chairs sit next to chrome-plated tables and bar wraps around the coffee station.
Southwest Diner carries their vibe past the aesthetics and into the food. The menu features many traditional breakfast items with a Southwestern twist. The "Grits on Fire" are covered in Queso and chile and the pancakes are made out of cornmeal.
I wanted more of the Southwest experience so I ordered the New Mexican Breakfast Burrito: scrambled eggs, green chile, chorizo, and potato wrapped in a flour tortilla. I also got a side of sopapilla which is a typed of traditional Mexican pastry traditional served with honey.
If you want to mix up your brunch routine, go to Southwest Diner for a classic experience with Southwest flair.
